An Arabic-first makeup and skincare storefront
Overview
A cosmetics store built from scratch: a fast React storefront, an Express and Prisma backend with a job queue and image processing, and native Arabic design rather than a mirrored template.
The challenge
The brand wanted an Arabic-first store that also serves English, with image-heavy products that still load fast on mobile. The extra challenge: the storefront is client-rendered, so product links shared on WhatsApp and Facebook would have shown no image or description.
What we did
- A React storefront with routing and data caching, built natively RTL — not a flipped English template.
- An Express and Prisma backend with a job queue for heavy work, and automatic multi-size image processing with sharp.
- An admin panel with a rich-text editor for products and blog content, sanitized against injected markup.
- Structured data and share cards in the page shell itself, so links render with a proper image and description everywhere.
